01Who this policy covers

This policy explains how Ganesh Bakery, Shop No. 533, V.E Road, Opposite VOC Market, Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu 628002, India, handles personal information collected through this website. It applies to everyone who browses the site, places an order, or contacts us through it.

By using this website you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site to place an order.

02Information you give us

We only ask for what is needed to bake, pack, deliver and account for your order:

• Your name, so we know who the order belongs to and who to address it to.
• Your phone number, for delivery coordination and order updates on WhatsApp or SMS. The courier also needs it to reach you.
• Your email address, for the order confirmation and invoice.
• Your full delivery address and PIN code, which we pass to the courier.
• Anything you choose to type into a message, gift note or bulk-order enquiry.
• If you create an account, the details above are saved so you do not have to retype them at your next checkout.

03Information collected automatically

Like most websites, ours records basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you opened and the site you arrived from. We use this to keep the site working, to spot abuse, and to understand which products people are looking for.

Your cart and wishlist are kept in your own browser's storage, on your device. They are not sent to us until you actually place an order.

04Your payment information

We never see, handle or store your card number, CVV, UPI PIN, net-banking password or any other payment credential. When you pay, the payment window is served directly by our payment gateway, Razorpay, and your details go to them, not to us.

What comes back to us is limited to what we need to confirm the order and issue a refund if one is due: a payment reference number, the amount, the currency, the method used (for example UPI or card), and whether it succeeded or failed. Nothing that could identify the card itself is kept.

Razorpay processes your payment under its own privacy policy and its own PCI-DSS obligations. Please read their policy at razorpay.com for how they handle that data.

05How we use your information

We do not use your information to send marketing messages you did not ask for, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.

• To confirm, prepare, pack and deliver your order.
• To send you order updates (placed, packed, shipped, delivered) on WhatsApp, SMS or email.
• To answer your questions and handle complaints, replacements and refunds.
• To issue a tax invoice and to keep the accounting and GST records Indian law requires us to keep.
• To detect and prevent fraudulent orders and misuse of the site.
• To improve the shop: which products to bake more of, which pages are confusing.

06Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information to anyone, ever. We share it only with the parties who make an order possible, and only the part each of them needs:

• Courier partners (such as Delhivery, Blue Dart, DTDC and India Post) receive your name, address and phone number so they can deliver your parcel.
• Razorpay, our payment gateway, receives what it needs to process your payment.
• Our messaging providers deliver the WhatsApp and SMS order updates you receive.
• Analytics providers, where enabled, receive anonymised usage statistics about the site.
• Government authorities, auditors or a court, where we are legally obliged to disclose information.

07Cookies and browser storage

We use browser storage for things the site cannot work without: keeping your cart and wishlist between pages, and keeping you signed in to your account. These are essential and cannot be switched off while you use the shop.

Where analytics or advertising pixels are enabled, they may set their own cookies to count visits. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings; the shop will still work, but your cart may not survive a page refresh.

08How long we keep it

Order records, invoices and payment references are kept for as long as Indian tax and company law requires us to retain them, which is currently eight years from the end of the relevant financial year. We cannot delete these earlier even on request.

Account details are kept until you ask us to close your account. Enquiry messages are kept until the matter is resolved and for a reasonable period afterwards.

09Your choices and your rights

You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, to correct anything that is wrong, or to delete what we are not legally required to keep. You can also ask us to stop sending order updates to a particular number.

10How we protect your information

The site is served entirely over HTTPS, so what you type is encrypted in transit. Account passwords are stored hashed, never in readable form, and no member of our staff can look up your password. Access to the order database is limited to the people who need it to run the shop.

No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise. If a breach ever affects your information, we will tell you and the relevant authority promptly.

11Children

This shop is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their details, contact us and we will remove them.

12Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and change the date shown above. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
